Questions
Q: How much do you charge? Can I see a price list?
We offer a customized wedding package unique to every client. We would love to meet with you and provide you with a package to suit your day. If someone is simply looking for the lowest price videography company – we are probably not the best fit. I believe that for the quality of work we do, we are very competitive and affordable.
Q: How can we book you?
I’m so glad you asked! Use the contact page on the website to get in touch with us to make sure we are available for your day. We require a third of the total package price to reserve your date.
Q: What kind of cameras do you use?
We shoot exclusively on Canon DSLRs for your wedding day. We used to shoot on shoulder mount Canon HD cameras but have upgraded to Canon DSLRs because the image quality is much much better (Have a look at our demo reels! Click here for the 2010 reel | Click here for the 2011 reel). The control of depth of field afforded by using Canon L-series lenses is cinematic, and cannot be achieved with shoulder-style cameras. Another key advantage of using Canon DSLRs is that the image sensor is MUCH larger which allows us to shoot in very low light (such as a reception hall) without using intrusive spot lights.
Q: How long will our video be?
We are very flexible in this area. The best way to think of it is to take a page out of hollywood’s book: a 2 hour feature film is cut from hundreds if not thousands of hours of footage. You certainly do not want to be watching an 8 hour marathon of your wedding day, but by capturing all the moments that define your wedding day we are able to create a “feature film” of a length that will represent and accentuate all the memories that you will cherish for the rest of your life – which is about 20-30 min.
We can also accommodate requests for a traditional long-form version of 2-3 hours.
Q: Can I have my raw footage?
Yes! For a nominal fee, we can transfer all the video files to an external hard drive. Keep in mind that we usually use 2-4 cameras and will require 200-300 GB in H.264 format or 500-700 GB in ProRes format.
Q: Can you also photograph my wedding?
No. We feel that studios offering both photography & videography cannot truly focus on obtaining the best photography and videography results, and are mainly bundled together for cost purposes. We are 2 film makers and use between 2 and 4 cameras focused exclusively on video. We can provide a list of photographers that we have worked with in the past and can recommend, if you’d like.
Q: We don’t want big lights and big cameras everywhere to ruin our intimate wedding.
That wasn’t a question (: We couldn’t agree more! We don’t use lights, because our cameras are good enough without them – and we don’t want to be the centre of attention. We have a variety of lenses to capture your wedding day details without being intrusive. We also don’t do cheesy table interviews, instead we prefer to capture genuine emotions.
Q: How long will it take before we can see our film?
Our style of editing is to edit only 1 wedding at a time. This allows us to focus on your wedding to give you the best product. We deliver the final product within 3 months.
